The Carpet House and the Simms Family of Fine Furniture and Carpeting began when Douglas Simms Sr. and wife Lois opened a storefront carpet business in Fredericksburg, Va. Since then, the family-owned and -operated business has expanded to include Doug's Carpet House and Simms Fine Furniture at the south end of Fredericksburg, the Lifestyle store in south Stafford in the Chatham Square Shopping Center, and a Carpet House branch store in Culpeper, Virginia. All manufacturers are sold below retail. Most are sold 35-50% below MSRP.
Carpeting, tile and flooring are installed by our own professional teams. We will try to match or beat any legitimate quotes from other sources (considering shipping and taxes).
As a family-owned business, the Simms family offers personal service not found with many larger chain businesses. Our success has been built on customer satisfaction and repeat business.
The Simms Difference
Simms furniture, alongside the Carpet House offers several opportunities that other furniture stores do not. Simms sells its floor samples if you need furniture quickly. Simms has perhaps the largest selection of upholstered furniture and accessories in the metro area. Simms only requires a third down-payment to place special orders. Simms also offers a 6- or 12-month payment plan with no interest.
Also, our delivery fees are lower than most of our competitors, based on your distance from the store (not based on a percentage of what you buy). Because we are a family-owned store, we also offer customer service not available from larger chain stores. We also have our own technicians to honor the warranties offered by our manufacturers.
